  • What does a birth doula do?
A birth doula provides continuous support throughout pregnancy, labor, and postpartum. This includes emotional support, physical comfort measures, and information to help you make informed decisions. A doula is there to empower you, reduce stress, and ensure a positive birth experience.
  • What is a full spectrum doula?
A full spectrum doula provides comprehensive support throughout the entire spectrum of reproductive experiences. This includes support for pregnancy, labor, and birth, as well as miscarriage, stillbirth, and postpartum care. Full spectrum doulas are trained to offer compassionate and non-judgmental support during a range of experiences, ensuring that every individual feels supported and cared for, regardless of their reproductive journey.
  • What is the difference between a doula and a midwife?
A doula and a midwife play different but complementary roles. A midwife is a medical professional who manages the clinical aspects of childbirth, such as monitoring the baby's health and delivering the baby. A doula, on the other hand, provides non-medical support, focusing on your emotional and physical well-being during the birth process.
  • When should I hire a birth doula?
It’s ideal to hire a birth doula early in your pregnancy, typically during the first or second trimester. This allows time to build a strong relationship, discuss your birth preferences, and prepare a birth plan. However, it's never too late to hire a doula, even if you're further along in your pregnancy.
  • What happens at a prenatal visit with my doula?
During a prenatal visit, we’ll discuss your birth preferences, including any specific wishes or concerns you may have. We’ll also work together to create a birth plan that reflects your desires
